I’m Lauren. I’m 25 years old, a PNW native, and currently living in the Seattle area. I went to college in sunny southern California and graduated in 2014 with a degree in kinesiology and no clue what to do with it. Fast forward a couple years and I ended up with a desk job at a large corporation. It’s a great job and I’m super blessed to have it, but it doesn’t challenge me to think creatively, which is why I started The Color Project.
In August 2014 I got to marry the man of my dreams and high school sweetheart, Kevin. Marrying him was the easiest and most confident decision I’ve ever made. We had a romantic summer garden wedding and it was the best day ever. We’re opposites and I love that. He’s bold, extroverted, and outgoing, and he encourages me and pushes me out of my comfort zone in the best way possible. Kevin is a kids pastor at our church and is incredible at what he does—the kids love him, and so do I!
When I was 22 I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, so I’ve been gluten free since 2014. After receiving my diagnosis and changing my diet, things didn’t just get better right away. It took nearly two years of careful eating before I finally felt normal again. Now, I do my best to eat healthy, whole foods and work out as often as I can, because I know that’s when I feel my best.
We recently bought our first house and I’m having so much fun decorating and making things feel cozy. I’m a homebody, and there’s nothing I love more than snuggling up on the couch with my kitties, a blanket, and a cup of coffee watching Gilmore Girls or Fixer Upper. I love to travel and am always dreaming up new adventures. My list of places to see is growing longer by the day, and next up on our agenda is a trip to Iceland in February! Most importantly, I’m a lover and follower of Jesus. God has been faithful to us through good times and bad, and my faith continues to grow because of that.
